About Nina Sky Music

Nicole and Natalie Albino are the voices that make up Nina Sky. Though they had a childhood marked by music experiences of a variety of kinds, Nina Sky girls only got known on the market in 2004. They both play drums and the guitar and they were educated in a very eclectic music background by their DJ step dad. They composed  their first song at the age of seven and by the time they turned ten they were committed to becoming singers. It took some very good years afterwards for Nina Sky to finally get the chance to show artistic talent on stage.

Before hitting the charts, the girls from Nina Sky worked as DJs and started developing their own sound under the guidance of two musical producers, Elijah Wells and Lionel Bermingham, known as the Jettsonz. Through this connection, Nina Sky came to work on their first single Move Ya Body that combined Caribbean rhythms with some R&B beats. The demo version of the song was very much to the liking of a division president from Universal Records, and things started to go smoothly for Nina Sky.

Move Ya Body remains the song to have opened many doors for Nina Sky but they needed to move further on with their musical career. Music promotion became a priority, and they concentrated all their attention in this direction particularly, with their efforts reflected in the increased response to reggaeton music on both sides of the Atlantic. At the end of 2007, Nina Sky finished their collaboration with Universal Records and signed with J Records, for an album the release of which has been postponed. In the meantime Nina Sky made various remixes of other very popular songs like J. Holiday’s Bed or Cassidy’s  My Drink n My 2 Steps.

Nina Sky songs address pretty varied topics from love themes and friendship to loss and bitter stuff of an emotional nature. On the other hand their music is stimulating with nice R&B notes that don’t pass unnoticed on the dance floor Nina Sky are co-writers of the famous Betty Wright’s song You Deserve for which they also collaborated as guest vocalists. Nina Sky has lots of things to prove after only two albums, plenty remixes and some sparkling collaborations. Will change style or go for the same beat? We’re waiting to see.

Barry Manilow – Singer And Songwriter

For generations, Barry Manilow has been singing his way into the hearts of millions of people from every corner of the globe. His songs are anthems for couples in every time zone, and his songwriting acumen is legendary.  Manilow returned to the stage in Las Vegas in 2006. Manilow will be playing regular shows at the Las Vegas Hilton, and his appearance is just another reason to visit Las Vegas, the best known oasis in the world. Below is a look at how Manilow became “Manilow”.

Early Life

Barry Alan Pincus was born in Brooklyn, New York on June 17, 1943. His father was of Russian and Jewish descent, and his mother was Irish. His parents split up when Barry was only two, and he was raised by his mother and maternal grandparents. Manilow began learning music at the age of seven when he started playing the piano and accordion.

At age 13, just prior to his Bar Mitzvah, Barry started singing. He also changed his last name to Manilow – his mother’s maiden name. In several ways, 1956 was the year Barry Manilow was “born”.

Budding Career

He continued singing through high school, and upon graduation, he was accepted to the prestigious Julliard School of Music. He paid his tuition by working in the CBS mail room. This job proved to be a fortunate one for Manilow. Manilow advanced at CBS, and wound up serving as the musical director for the CBS show Callback.

For the next few years, Manilow made his way by writing and performing advertising jingles, including the now-famous song for State Farm Insurance. His work got him noticed, and in 1971 he was hired by Bette Midler as her pianist and music director. He accompanied her on several bath house performances in New York City before Midler herself gained fame and fortune. His work with Midler helped her rise to the top, and as a result, Manilow landed his first record deal in 1973.

Potential Reached

His first album was not very successful but he followed it with Barry Manilow II which included the smash hit single “Mandy”, a number one hit in both the US and UK. From there, an incredible run of commercial success ensued. Manilow’s next six albums all reached the Top 10 on the US Album charts, and some of the singles he produced during this time have remained popular to this day, including I Write The Songs in 1975 and Looks Like We Made It in 1977.

Of over 30 albums Manilow recorded, 13 have risen to number 1 on the charts which is a great success rate. Manilow’s style has transformed over the years as well. His early works were almost exclusively love songs and ballads. However, in the early 1980’s, Manilow began to focus more on smooth jazz and worked with such legends of the genre as Mel Torme and Sarah Vaughan.

Overall, though, Manilow is best known for his romantic singing and sometimes crooning ways on stage, and his shows have been sold out in nearly every venue for decades. His fans number in the millions and his act is imitated by many.

Manilow has won two Grammy Awards during his career for his singing performances, and in 2002, he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He was named the best perfomer of his generation by Rolling Stone Magazine. His charitable works are too numerous to list in one volume.

There are many reasons to take in a Barry Manilow show. We’ve listed a few, but a trip to Las Vegas would be well worth your time to see one of the true icons of musical performance.

A Song By Song Review Of Michael Jackson’s Thriller

“Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’” – This tune is one of four tunes on the album that MJ got sole songwriting credits on. Michael Jackson wasn’t only a great singer & dancer, he was also a excellent songwriter.

“Baby Be Mine” – To get an idea of how good this album is consider this: “Baby Be Mine” is one of only two songs that wasn’t a hit single. This is a pretty catchy song to be one of just two tunes not released as a single.

“The Girl Is Mine” – The lyrics are cheesy as hell but I think that’s part of the song’s charm. I’ve really started to enjoy this song a lot lately. The interplay between Jackson & Beatles legend Paul McCartney is pretty damn sweet. Jackson wrote this song.

“Thriller” – Too many people think just about the groundbreaking music video and forget about the song itself. It’s a brilliant song and MJ’s incredible vocals really put it over the top. Who else could have made this song work?

“Beat It” – The “rock crossover” song on the album includes a great guitar solo by Eddie Van Halen. This is the kind of thing that Jackson doesn’t get enough credit for, he was really pushing the envelope of what pop music could be. Jackson wrote “Beat It.”

“Billie Jean” – The most perfect Michael Jackson track. If you are ever questioning MJ’s songwriting ability, remember that he wrote “Billie Jean”.

“Human Nature” – This is one of the Thriller songs I enjoy most lately because it hasn’t been overplayed like a lot of the others on the album. It’s a beautiful song.

“P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)” – I’m not sure any song makes me want to “get down” more than “PYT.” Much like the beautiful “Human Nature,” this tune is among my favorite songs on Thriller because it hasn’t been included in so many greatest hits albums.

“The Lady In My Life” – The worst tune on the album? Yeah I think so. Still pretty darn great? Definitely.

Does reading about this brilliant album makes you want to learn how to sing yourself? Well, I will not guarantee you that you will be able to sing just like Michael Jackson (who can?) but you can definitely improve your vocal abilities with Singorama vocal lessons which are 100% guaranteed.
