Alice in Chains, a great grunge metal band that we haven’t seen in quite a while has returned.  Being a fan of their music (and seeing the guitarist Jerry Cantrell once live in Philadelphia) this news seems almost shocking.  Perhaps shocking in the sense that Alice in Chains could even exist after the tragic loss of the great vocalist Layne Staley in 2002.  

Layne will always be remember as their greatest vocalist (the Facelift and Jar of Flies albums are must haves) but that doesn’t mean the new singer, William Duvall can’t be an awesome lead vocalist.  His voice fits in well with Alice in Chains older material as well as the new album. So the new album is called Black Gives Way To Blue and there has been some good good buzz on it and deserves to be buzzing out of my speakers.
