About SongGet and This Notice

SongGet is an independent software product designed to help individuals manage their personal music collections. Its features include audio downloading, format conversion, offline playback preparation, and personal library organization. SongGet is built for private listeners — not for commercial reproduction, broadcast, or redistribution.

This notice governs all access to and use of SongGet software, the SongGet.com website, and any associated tools or services. It takes effect the moment you engage with any part of SongGet's offering — whether that is browsing the website, downloading the installer, or running the application. If you do not agree with any part of this notice, please do not proceed.

Music Rights: What You Need to Know

Music is protected by copyright the moment it is created. Songwriters, performers, producers, and record labels all hold overlapping rights over a single track. Using SongGet does not transfer, waive, or alter any of those rights. It is your obligation to confirm that you hold the necessary rights or permissions before you use this software to copy, download, or convert any audio content.

Acceptable uses generally include:

  • Creating a personal backup of music you have purchased outright (physical or digital).
  • Converting file formats so your music plays on devices you personally own.
  • Organizing locally stored tracks into your private library.
  • Offline listening where the content license and local law both permit it.

Uses that are never acceptable include:

  • Copying music from a streaming service without a license explicitly permitting downloads.
  • Processing content you rented, borrowed, or received temporarily.
  • Reproducing audio to share with others — publicly or privately — without rights-holder consent.
  • Stripping DRM protections for any purpose beyond lawful personal use expressly permitted in your jurisdiction.

Streaming Platforms and Third-Party Accounts

SongGet may operate alongside third-party music streaming or download platforms. This does not mean SongGet provides, sells, or mediates access to those platforms. Any streaming service you use with SongGet must be accessed through your own valid subscription or account. SongGet plays no role in authenticating, funding, or managing that account.

SongGet is an entirely independent company and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or in any commercial relationship with third-party platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Tidal, Deezer, or any other service. All platform names, logos, and trademarks belong exclusively to their respective owners. Mentioning them here is purely for informational context.

Each streaming platform publishes its own Terms of Service. Those terms govern what you are and are not permitted to do with content accessed through their service. SongGet does not override, nullify, or supersede those rules. Violations of a platform's terms are your responsibility alone.

Jurisdiction and Local Law

Copyright law differs materially from country to country. Concepts such as private copying exceptions, fair use, fair dealing, and anti-circumvention restrictions are not uniform. An activity that is lawful in one country may constitute infringement in another. SongGet is distributed globally and cannot assess the legal position of every individual user.

Before using SongGet, particularly its downloading or format-conversion features, you are solely responsible for confirming that your intended use complies with the copyright, intellectual property, and data protection laws that apply in your location. This includes, but is not limited to, consulting legal counsel if you are uncertain. SongGet accepts no liability for unlawful use of the software regardless of where you are located.

Restrictions on Commercial Activity

The standard SongGet license is granted for personal, non-commercial use only. The following activities are expressly prohibited under this license unless SongGet has given separate written authorisation:

  • Offering paid or subscription-based music downloading or conversion services using SongGet.
  • Selling, licensing, or renting output files — whether in original or converted format.
  • Hosting audio files produced with SongGet on public servers, streaming platforms, or file-sharing networks.
  • Incorporating SongGet's output into commercial productions, advertising, or broadcast content.
  • Sublicensing, rebranding, or reselling SongGet itself or modified versions of it.

If you operate a business that could benefit from SongGet in a commercial context, please contact us at SongGet.com to discuss licensing terms appropriate to your situation.

Intellectual Property Ownership

All elements of SongGet — its source code, compiled software, user interface, icons, documentation, brand assets, and website content — are proprietary to SongGet and protected under applicable intellectual property laws. Your license to use the software does not grant you any ownership interest in any of these elements.

You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble SongGet beyond the extent expressly permitted by law in your jurisdiction. You may not remove, alter, or obscure any copyright notices, license attributions, or watermarks embedded in the software or its output. Any attempt to replicate SongGet's functionality in a competing product using SongGet's proprietary components is strictly prohibited.

Software Availability and Technical Scope

The digital music ecosystem is dynamic. Streaming protocols, audio encoding standards, DRM implementations, and platform architectures change frequently, sometimes without notice. SongGet makes reasonable efforts to maintain compatibility with supported services and formats, but cannot guarantee that every feature will function continuously or that all audio sources will remain accessible.

SongGet reserves the right to push software updates, modify supported features, adjust pricing, or discontinue certain functions at any time. Where practically possible, users will be notified of significant changes, but SongGet is not obligated to provide advance notice for updates driven by third-party platform changes or security requirements.

Warranty

SongGet is made available on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SongGet disclaims all warranties — express, implied, or statutory. This includes any implied warranty of merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, reliability, or uninterrupted access.

SongGet does not warrant that the software will be error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the servers that make it available are free of harmful components. You assume all risk associated with your use of the software and any content you process through it.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SongGet and its owners, officers, contractors, and technology partners shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of — or inability to use — the software. This includes, and is not limited to, loss of data, loss of music files, loss of income, compatibility failures, third-party enforcement actions, account suspensions imposed by external platforms, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages of any kind.

Where a jurisdiction does not permit the exclusion or limitation of certain types of liability, SongGet's liability in that jurisdiction will be limited to the greatest extent the law allows. Nothing in this notice excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
